4KQ is a classic hits station in Brisbane and is owned by Australian Radio Network. Launched in 1947, 4KQ is Brisbane's fourth and last commercial AM station.
4KQ was started by the Australian Labor Party and represented in its callsign; K signifies the Labor Party and Q for Queensland.
In 1994, 4KQ was owned by Wesgo. The network was sold to Australian Provincial Newspapers which was the beginning of the Australian Radio Network.
In 2001, in partnership with Nova Entertainment, ARN launched 97.3 FM. 4KQ has a history of being Brisbane's classic hits station and compliments 97.3 FM's adult contemporary format.
4KQ is part of the Pure Gold Network and partner with WSFM (Sydney), Gold 104.3 (Melbourne) and Cruise 1323 (Adelaide).
