Canberra was served by two commercial AM stations. 2CA launched in 1930 but it was 44 year later in 1977 when 2CC launched.

FM radio arrived in Canberra in 1988. On February 27th, both stations launched their supplementary FM stations. 2CA launched FM104 (now known as 104.7) and 2CC launched Kix 106 (known now as Mix 106.3).
