Hit 104.1 2Day FM is a top 40 station in Sydney and is owned by Southern Cross Austereo. The station was the start of commercial FM radio in Sydney. On August 1st 1980, 2Day FM launched along with Triple M.
2Day FM first owners were the media personalities, John Laws, Mike Willesee and Graham Kennedy. To make it different to the existing AM stations, 2Day FM launched with an easy listening format. In 1987 they sold the station to Broadcast Investments (Lamb Family).
Two years later in 1989, 2Day FM was bought by its current owners, Austereo. They were creating a top 40 network and added 2Day FM to the format. In 1994, Austereo bought Triple M from Hoyts Media bringing the two stations that started commercial FM radio in Sydney - 2Day FM and Triple M - under the same ownership.The station is part of the Today Network. In 2015, it changed to the Today's Hit Network and Hit 104.1 became part of the station's name.
