Sea FM 100.9 is a top 40 station in Hobart and is owned by Southern Cross Austereo. Launching in 1990, the station was the start of commercial FM radio in Hobart.
The station was launched using its callsign, TTT FM which signified being Tasmanian. TTT FM had a minor investment from Austereo and mirrored itself on its Melbourne station, Fox FM with a rock format.
In 2000, TTT FM was sold to RG Capital who was building up a network of stations named Sea FM. But it wasn't until three years later in 2003 that TTT was renamed as Sea FM. The station also moved to a top 40 format.The following the year, Macquarie Regional RadioWorks bought RG Capital's Sea FM stations. Followed by in 2011 when Macquarie Regional RadioWorks (Southern Cross Media) bought Austereo; bringing the station back under Austereo ownership.
