Star 104.5 is an adult contemporary station in Gosford and is owned by Nova Entertainment. The station originally had a rock format; but with competition from Sydney and local stations, Star 104.5 now has a more mix format.

In 2004 DMG Radio, as Nova Entertainment was known as then, owned a group of regional stations. Shortly after launching Star 104.5, Macquarie Regional RadioWorks bought DMG Radio and RG Capital regional stations.

This left Macquarie owning all three commercial stations in Gosford - Sea FM, 2GO FM and Star 104.5. With the "2 station rule", DMG remained owners of Star 104.5. The Gosford station retained its Star name whilst the other Star FM stations, now part of Southern Cross Austereo, are licenced to use the name.
